Clay Crucible

Fire assay clay crucibles are specialized grade containers designed to hold crushed mineral samples and metal alloys as well as melt samples at high temperatures in fire assay furnaces. Made from fire clay and proprietary additives, they ensure maximum durability and high temperature resistance, withstanding large temperature changes over multiple uses, providing strong and stable performance for mineral laboratory analysis.

Clay refractory crucibles have been used in historical documents and the gold refining industry for over 3000 years. Modern fire assay clay crucibles are not much different than those of the past, except for the added science and technology behind their composition, designed to withstand extreme temperatures, and can be used to melt, refine, and analyze metals and minerals.

Decent clay crucibles are carefully crafted from scientifically mixed premium materials, offering high-temperature resistance, excellent heat conduction, and reusability. As the only manufacturer in China with full-process production capabilities for fire assay clay consumables, we can reasonably control quality, costs, and delivery times from the production stage.

【Strict quality control】

-Visual and Physical Inspection

According to the preset sampling rate, the crucibles are randomly selected and weighed to detect weight changes. Their durability is tested by gradually increasing the force of the knocks. Finally, the selected crucibles are cut in half to check the consistency of grain size, height and width.

-Usage Testing

According to the preset sampling rate, some crucibles are randomly selected, and flux without silica is added to simulate the fire assay process to test product performance. The qualification standard is that after 5 repeated firings, there is no obvious difference in the pouring process, no lead sputtering on the mold, and no structural damage to the crucible.

Equipment Construction

  • With a low caustic soda, low iron content and high silicon content formula, our clay crucibles can withstand thermal shocks of 1650℃.
  • Utilizing the latest automated manufacturing technology, our factory has an annual production capacity of 6.5 million pieces while ensuring crucible size consistency.
  • We provide clay crucibles in standard specifications from 30g to 65g.
  • Our clay crucibles are generally reusable 5 times, and can be reused up to 9 times or more.
  • We offer a wide range of customization options.
  • Our crucibles are carefully packed in wooden boxes or cartons on pallets.
